• Suddenly showing multiple printers

From Davey@2:250/1 to All on Thursday, January 09, 2025 16:58:23
    I use Ubuntu 18.04 (yes, I know it's old).
I have an HP Laser printer, networked to my PC.
For years, literally, it has been called: HP-LaserJet-200-color-M251n. Recently, there have also appeared in the list 1 or 2 versions
    called: HP-LaserJet-200-color-M251n_60E5BB_
and instead of a print job being sent to the old default of the first
of those, it now has to be sent to one or other of the latter. Not
always does it show 2 of them, sometimes just one.
How could this have happened? And how do I get back to the simple
original? It probably occurred due to some update, but it is of no help
    at all.
    Any help welcome.

It's out of support (unless you sue ESM).
    Upgrade to 24.04.

Maybe it is Avahi that discovers it again and again with different IP addresses.
