Just installed the global war door game using the recommended setting on the wiki. The game will not display on the remote client. A popup window appears on the board machine with the welcome and a nag to download the gw client. it them closes when enter is pressed on the server side and the remote use is kicked back to the menu after hanging.

I have the cfg file line noted with a fossil.

The command line is war /d %f
drop file is door.sys and resides in node file.

I can't think of anything that would cause it to pop up the local window.

I have the cfg file line noted with a fossil.

    Mine says "FOSSIL or UART"

The command line is war /d %f

Mine is: WAR.BAT and the contents of WAR.BAT are:
    @ECHO OFF
    cd /sbbs/xtrn/gwar
    WAR.EXE /d D:\DOOR.SYS

drop file is door.sys and resides in node file.

Mine is: DOOR.SYS (52 lines) and is in the node dir.

This is on Linux and works fine.

    Hope this helps.

it's like magic. I ran it from the command line first and that work beautifully.

    Thanks for the help!

trying to split the difference between out of date guides can lead to a wormhole. I should have tried using raw file paths and not shortcuts.

    Appreciate you!

Trust me, I'm quite familiar with wormholes. And rabbit-holes. :-)
Yes, it is often better to use absolute paths with this kind of thing.

    Appreciate you!

    No problem.
