    Can take some time, resulting in user thinking the BBS has crashed. Could we add a progress indicator to show the BBS is processing the user's request?

    Actually - this is only an issue when using DDMsgReader so will re-assign.

    Currently, DDMsgReader doesn't show progress for this newscan when using indexed mode, but I can add that. For me though, the indexed menu comes up basically instantaneously. Do you have a lot of sub-boards on your BBS?

    When not using indexed mode though, DDMsgReader does show progress for this scan:

    @Keyop I assume this is for when indexed mode is being used? DDMsgReader already reports status when indexed mode is not being used. I put in a change and made a merge request.

    There is a big pause still between selecting Yes to the "Search all groups for new messages?" and the progress indicator starting.

    I've recorded a video to demonstrate (sent via IRC).

    I had the same problem about a year ago, but it went away with an
    update. Odd.
