There's not much we can do until money is less tight, but it's nice being able to shout into the void with a cheap HT. I'm already learning Morse in hopes of getting a key and meeting some oddballs

VEs are genuinely pleased to see people pass the exams, we ARE volunteers, so we do it because of the reward we get from seeing folks who have studied hard get their new ticket or upgrade. Nothing more rewarding than being able to congratulate a candidate on a passing score.
