    Hi Folks:

My name is Joseph Norton and I am a totally blind user from Dalton, GA, in the United States.

I am attempting to set up the Synchronet software per instructions, and, I think I have done it correctly.

If anyone sees this, would you kindly reply and let me know?

    Thanks!

    Thanks for the compliment.

This is where the old tech meets the new, or vice versa.

Running on a Surface Pro 7, under Win 10.

Using Telix or Commo under DOSBox-X on the same machine, but, everything looks good.

Instructions were fairly clear--you can't even begin setting one of these things without being willing to read instructions.

Now, to see if I have a copy of BlueWave around here.

    Thanks much!

    looks good. a comedian too!
    are you just partiall blind?

I did have a blind user in the past and I made a custom menu for him.
I think eventually his computer setup got screwed up because he moved and
he couldn't get back online fully.

    Hi:

    I'm totally blind--no light perception.

By special menu, do you mean one without all the graphics? The do funny things to my speech software, sometimes.

Going to try another DOS screen reader to see if that changes things.

Tried replying with BlueWave, but, it wants to put a number before your handle, so just using the editor on the BBS itself. After all, I'm not having to pay long-distance charges <grin>, though my phone and Internet bill make me believe I am sometimes.

Anyway, letting SBBS run to see what it picks up from the other Dove net systems.

    Cheers!

    Ok.

    Now, that's interesting.

Bluewave's time stamp format must be slightly different.

Maybe I shouldn't be in this message area testing this kind of stuff.

I'll have to play around more with this. I haven't rtfm in a while for BlueWave, so maybe I'm missing something.

    Best!

You'll want to make sure that your BlueWave reader has been patched for Y2K, otherwise you'll have some funky things going on. If you don't have the
patch, I have it on my board.

I would also recommend having a go with MultiMail, also availble on the board.
