    Flower to the people: Mexico's supreme court DECRIMINALIZES
    recreational CANNABIS use

    The court declared the current prohibition of marijuana in
    private and recreational use by adults UNCONSTITUTIONAL, by a
    majority 8-3.

    Adults will now be able to apply for permits to CULTIVATE up to
    8 plants and consume their own cannabis - smoking in public and
    in front of children is banned.

    Supporters of the legislation hope that it will reduce some of
    the violence related to illegal drugs trade in Mexico, which
    claims the lives of thousands of people each year.

    Has Mexico broken the grass ceiling? Will other countries
    follow suit in a joint effort?
