• detect USB write completion

From faeychild@2:250/1 to All on Sunday, June 08, 2025 07:09:25

My problem stems from video file writes to a USB stick
The popup dialog says "copy complete" long before it has, and if my
stick doesn't poses an indicator LED I can't tell if the copy has ended.
Is there a process that monitors the buffering and actual completion?

    Regards

Use htop. Run it, press f6 to display the list of fields to sort by. Use the cursor up/down keys to
highlight STATE, and press enter to sort the display by the state column.

In the column labled S (short for state), see if there are any processes displaying a state of
D (short for device wait). If there are, it isn't finished.
