I couldn't make my new Multifunctional HP 135W work in Magia 9.
HP-SETUP does not find it in USB ports despite lsusb listed it.

According to ChatgPT, the 135W printer support was included in the
3.21 version of the HPLIP. The Mageia 9 Hplip version is 3.22.10 in
theory was to work.
Have you tried installing with MCC?
It is possible that your printer will not be precisely coupled with a
driver for the 135W because the driver is for the "130W series" or
something like that. You may have to do a manual search of the hplip
data to identify it.
My HP Envy Photo 7858 is like that. It is actually a bigbox store-
renamed clone of the 7855, but 7858 isn't in the database as part of the 7800 series. I have to tell system-config-printer (MCC) which driver is correct.
Forgot to mention...identifying it as a M652-M653 printer, and setting the default to print
The same is true of my Color Laserjet M254dw. It isn't on the list as
such, either. The right ID for it is M253-M254.
But you can identify it as just about anything you want. The driver for
the M254DW has a bug where it refuses to print color in grayscale. Experience with the hplip developers tells me that once they decide a printer is "fully supported" they rarely revisit it even when there are known bugs. My workaround was to install the M254dw a second time, this
time identifying it as a M6

M253-M254 and when I want grayscale I use the M652-M653.
Messy, but it works.

I downloaded the driver from here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-laser-mfp-130-printer
series/24494378
I had difficulty installing because I supposed that the installation
method would be by the HPLIP utility as in the previous printer HP MFP
1132.

HPLIP ware does not support MFP 135W, and when searching for installation/drivers at HP using linux, there are a number of
distro alternatives listed such as Deb, Ub, RH/Fed, SUSE and that
they all result in the same .gz dl which is described NOT as 135W
but:

So, then the qx of 'suitability' for newer distro/s and Mageia is
up for grabs, but worth a try :-)
